Family Guy is a very popular TV show that people of all ages have watched for many years. Family Guy is a show of entertainment, to make you laugh until you fall off the edge of your chair. Ironically, the humor comes from vulgar language and inappropriate sexual intercourses. Has the show’s humor gone too far? There are many references from movies, books, tv shows, famous people, and other significant figures. In the show these references are usually made fun of to make the audience laugh. Though, there is even more remarks towards than making fun of Britney Spears or the President. There are many times in the show when they make fun of African Americans, Jews, Asians, and many others. Does this show make certain people extremely offended or uncomfortable?

Are the Chicago Cubs really cursed?

The cubs have always had the players, the coaches, the loses, but not the wins. And when the wins come, they don’t seem to come in the playoffs. This past year the cubs were soaring with wins in the regular season as the finished in first place of their division by a handful of games. When it came to the play-offs, with their three best pitchers, they could not seem to pull out a win in, out of three games! How could the pitchers, the fields, and hitters all have such bad games all at the same time? Just like a few years ago when they had a great season they made it to the play-offs and could not make it through. They had the opportunity to make it all the way, but a fan in the stands caught a fly ball when a player on the Cubs could have caught it and made the final out. Instead, they could not get any more out and ended up losing the game.

When I look at this picture, I feel a cold sensation. The deep, darker colors make this gives off vibes of depression. None of the faces have a smile; they all look confused and dazed. There is craziness and clutter as well, as if there is no order in the picture. The looks of the faces even give off the sense that they are under the influence of some type of drugs. The painting is actually about a bombing by the Germans on Guernica. Now, I understand why the chaos in this picture and the faces looked shocked. Here there is more then glory for the winners, there is also harsh suffering to those who did indeed lose.

The second picture reminds me of the nighttime attack on a small rural town. Here there are more colors such as shades or yellow, orange, and red around the people. In the distance the colors are still dim and dark. The brightest past of the piece focuses on the man with his arms up, who seems to be begging for his life at that instant. He even looks Christ like, with his hands up in the air. This painting marks a clear break from convention. This painting is also considered one of the first paintings of the modern era, and is known as “revolutionary.”

The third picture does not seem as scary, because it is not as dark and gloomy. The whole picture gives off colors to show that it is during the daytime. Then men in uniform act represent high class and substantial power, compared to the other men is less proper of clothing. The heads of the people give tension to this piece because it seems as if they are in pain of these killings. This painting is also very clear to see what is happening. This painting is supposed to be the execution of the emperor, but it is inaccurate because he did not stand in the center of the execution.

A place that speaks to me is Yahoo.com. I first discovered Yahoo when I was in the 6th grade. My class and I were in the computer lab learning how to use the computers and the teacher showed us how to search for information using Google, Yahoo, or Ask.com. I tried all of them out, and to this day still use Google very frequently, though Yahoo is not only my search engine, but Email as well. My first Email address was created at yahoo, along with my “Family” Email. Texts that are produced here are Emails that I have sent and received over the years. Also, there are news articles, music, instant messaging, shopping, maps, job finding, weather listings, and more that can be found on the website. Arguments that are produced here can be found in the news articles dealing with the wars across the sea, political campaigns, and economy problems. Internet users who are have emails under Yahoo addresses or favor the yahoo search engine and all the other extras on the page over other search engine websites frequent this page. There are a large variety of activities that I notice such as shopping, real estate searching, reading the news, job searching, emailing, games, maps, messaging, and more. Many tensions can be found here because for instance, right now as I am trying to do my homework I could easily want to chat online, check my emails, read the latest news heading, or even play a game of solitaire. Yahoo is definitely a interaction with a larger community because it brings in millions to billions of users every day.

Good writing can be described in a million different ways. Good writing is when the author reaches out to grab the readers attention from page beginning to end. Good writing includes an immense vocabulary and detailed  literary devices such as imagery, similies, and oxymorons. Not only does good writing need flow and cleary stated, it needs good mechanisms too. To become a good writer you need practice, practice, and more practice. A good writer can never write enough or read enough. The more a writer writes what ever they desire, the more their writing will grow. To become a good writer you also need to read a lot to increase their vocabulary. I have many questions about writing. First, what can I do to make my papers flow better? How can I work on my introduction paragraphs? What are good techniques to deepen my vocabulary? When I am writing, the easiest thing for me to accomplish as a writer is to develop a interesting story. I am a creative person so when I am writing a story that involves creativity I usually succeed. The largest problem I have in writing is making my paper flow. I will start out with great ideas on what I want to write about, but putting them all together stumps me. Also, in writing I struggle with using a a big vocabulary. Another aspect of writing that I struggle with is opening paragraphs. I feel like I sit at my my desk for hours trying to think about how I should start my paper.
